The latest updated situation from Bangkok is as per below:

The flooding situation in North and West of Bangkok is gradually decline and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration reported that for the past 24 hours, the floodwater declines a little and some people have begun to return homes to start cleaning.

Don Muang saw water decline about 3-5cm. Khlong Prem Pachakorn saw decline of 2-7cm, Khlong Bangkhen at 4-7cm, Khlong Lat Phra 4-7cm, Khlong Bang Sue 5-7cm, Khlong Hokwa and Khlong Song 2cm.

The Area of Bangkok metropolitan and nearby like Samut Prakarn where majority of hotels are located remained unaffected.

The Sightseeing tours departed from Bangkok that still could not be operated are:

1. Damnensaduak Floating Market
2. Thai Cultural At Rose Garden
3. Full Day To Safari World
4. Siam Park City

All transportation modes are remained unaffected except the old Don Muang airport is flooded.

Update for the latest flood situation in Bangkok

Please kindly be updated for flood situation in Bangkok as per below:

In the Bangkok metropolitan area, the central part of the city where most tourists go, was not affected by the flood. It is expected to remain dry. Flood water is receding in many districts of Bangkok. This includes the Chatuchak District, where Chatuchak Weekend Market is located. The market itself is not flooded. Central Plaza Lad Phrao, which is also in the Chatuchak District, has been reopened.

Areas still flooded in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area include suburbs in the East and West, the West bank of the Chao Phraya River, and districts in the Northern part of the city.

In central Bangkok, businesses, hotels, shops and tourist attractions are open as per normal in areas including:

1. Khao San Road Ratchaprasong (Central World area)
2. Phetchaburi Road Sathorn
3. Ploenchit / Chidlom Siam Square / MBK/ Siam Paragon
4. Pratunam Silom/ Surawongse
5. Rama I Road Sukhumvit Road / The Emporium
6. Rama IV Road Yaowarat (Chinatown)

The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway are operating normally.

Transportation updates

Suvarnabhumi Airport: Suvarnabhumi Airport, the main international gateway to Thailand, remains open and is not affected by the flood. Suvarnabhumi Airport is the main connector for international arrivals to domestic flights serving tourist destinations throughout Thailand such as Phuket, Chiang Mai and Surat Thani. Domestic flights are operating as per normal between Suvarnabhumi Airport and other airports in Thailand.

Transportation to and from the airport into central Bangkok including taxis, buses and the Airport Rail Link are operating normally. Highways from the airport to tourist destinations southeast of Bangkok such as Pattaya, Rayong and Ko Chang are open.

The two domestic airlines normally based at Don Mueang Airport, which is still closed due to flooding, continue operating from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and inter-provincial bus services are operating as per usual in areas that are not affected by the floods. In Bangkok and other areas affected by the floods, the SRT and inter-provincial bus service operators have adjusted their routes to best serve passengers given local conditions. Inter-provincial buses from Bangkok to southern provinces are leaving from a temporary station at the car park of the Holland Beer House on Rama II Road in the southwest part of Bangkok.

Train services to north and northeastern Thailand are operating as per normal from Hua Lamphong Station, with some delays due to rerouting. Train services to the southern provinces are operating mainly from Nakhon Pathom due to flooding in Bangkok’s western suburbs. The SRT is providing shuttle bus services between Hua Lamphong Station and Nakhon Pathom. Travelers are advised to check in advance with these operators and may want to consider flying to their destinations within Thailand.

Situation in Ayutthaya
Flood waters have also subsided in most areas of the island of Ayutthaya. Cleanup operations have been underway since the second week of November. Tourist attractions in Ayutthaya including the World Heritage Site will reopen officially once a detailed inspection by the Fine Arts Department is complete.

Attractions in Ayutthaya that are now open and welcoming visitors are:

1. Ayutthaya Royal Elephant Kraal
2. Chao Sam Phraya National Museum
3. Wat Phanan Choeng Ayutthaya
4. Wat Yai Chai Mongkol and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha

Other Provinces in Thailand: Most provinces in Thailand were not affected by the flood.

Provinces in the north not affected by the floods:

1. Chiang Mai Phayao
2. Chiang Rai Phetchabun
3. Kampheang Phet Phrae
4. Lampang Sukhothai
5. Lamphun Tak
6. Mae Hong Son Uttaradit
7. Nan

The flooding has subsided in northern provinces including Nakhon Sawan, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Uthai Thani and cleanup operations are underway.

Universal Studios Singapore: Exclusive Coach

The above picture is one of AT Express exclusive coaches, which are assigned only for Universal Studios, Singapore (USS) guests.

These coaches ferry USS guests from hotel in the morning and bring them back in the evenings. Guests who are scheduled to visit USS only are allowed to board in coach. The guest need to show the coach transfer vouchers to the driver, and then he allows the guests to get inside.

AT Express has their own office at the the parking bay of USS. Once guest reaches at USS parking bay via coach, they are directed to report at K-9 (AT Express office), where the pre issued USS redemption voucher gets scanned, and then the guests are given entrance tickets.

While returning back from USS, guests need to report at K-9 at USS parking bay, and then this exclusive AT Express coach ferry them back to their respective hotels.

Latest updates from Thailand flood situation

Dear trade partners

Please find the latest update on the Bangkok flooding situation as following:

1. The flooding situation has decreased in some areas North of Bangkok, whereas Northern areas closer to the inner city are now experiencing floods.
2. The waters have progressed from Rangsit area to the South and have now reached Lad Prao – the area around Central Lad Prao Department Store. However this is still far from the main tourists areas of Rajaprasong, Sukhumvit, Silom and Sathorn Road.
3. Other areas newly affected are in the west of Bangkok at the other side of the Chao Phraya River (Thonburi, Pink Lao). These areas do not affect our operations.
4. The high tides of the past weekend have finished and therefore tidal floods around the river hotels and the Grand Palace area do not occur anymore.
5. Riverside hotels are now cleared and your guests can be welcomed in any of the resorts along the Chao Phraya River.

Our predictions for the coming days:

1. The authorities are completing the building of six kilometers long 'Big Bag' barrier was completed to curb the deluge from the north from overflowing into inner Bangkok and this should divert the water to the Chao Phraya River and keep the inner city dry. We are monitoring this closely.
2. The situation to the west of Bangkok remains a concern and also here we are keeping a close eye to the situation and what affect it might have to our operations.

Affected Operations: We would like to update you on the operations as follows:

1. Airport - The Don Muang International Airport remains closed. Suvarnabhumi International Airport operates as normal. Highway - The highways to the North and Northeast of Thailand are returning to normal and further repairs are needed. Roads to Pattaya and Koh Chang are not affected. We are monitoring the situation around the highway to the South, Hua Hin and Cha Am.

Tours - The following tours cannot be operated and we are forced to cancel these:

1. Ayutthaya: All tours to Ayutthaya are cancelled until the end of November 2011.
2. Areas around Bangkok: Thonburi Klong Tours, Dream World, Safari World, Siam Park. These tours remain cancelled until further notice.

Unaffected Operations , At this moment in time, we can operate the following day tours:

1. Tours to the Grand Palace, Tours to Temples in Bangkok.
2. Damnoen Saduak / Floating Market.
3. Dinner Cruise Along Chaophraya River.
4. Siam Niramit.
5. Siam Ocean World and Madame Tussaud in Siam Paragon.
6. Pattaya Tour

Our reservations personnel will be in contact with the guests or agents to inform them of cancellations and alternatives.

Other areas - All beach destinations such as Phuket, Samui, Pattaya and Koh Chang are not affected. All areas north of Sukhothai, including Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Lampang, are dry and tours operate as normal.
